PennDOT Services We Offer:
Below are some of the most common Vehicle Registration and Titling requests and/or issues that we work with on an everyday basis; however we are educated and authorized by PennDOT to do so much more! Do you intend to purchase a car, motorcycle, truck or trailer? Let us do your title & registration work!
If you’re the SELLER, you will need to bring:
The original PA Title – OR – Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin.
If it is a title/vehicle is coming from another state, PennDot requires a VIN Verification. This means that you must bring the vehicle with you when coming to our office. If for some reason, you cannot bring the vehicle, you will need to complete an MV-41 form (available here) and have the VIN personally verified by a licensed auto mechanic or another notary public.
If the title is a PA title or an out of state title that needs to be notarized, the ORIGINAL seller(s) or his/her POA must also come with their valid DL/ID so we can notarize the title OR it must be notarized before coming in to do the transfer! Certificates of Origin need to be notarized under the Odometer Statement AND Customer Assignment.

Your Valid PA Driver’s License or PA State ID.
If your address differs from that on your driver’s license we will need your YELLOW amendment card as well or we will need to change your address with the state.
If your address needs changed/updated we will most likely be able to change your address at the same time as your transfer. (CDL license holders excluded).
The current odometer reading to the vehicle.
If you intend to use a prior license plate that was on a vehicle already owned, please bring it with you and we will try to save you money by reusing it.
If you’re the BUYER, you will need to bring:
Your Valid PA Driver’s License or PA State ID.
If your address differs from that on your driver’s license we will need your YELLOW amendment card as well or we will need to change your address with the state.
If your address needs changed/updated we will most likely be able to change your address at the same time as your transfer. (CDL license holders excluded).
Valid PA Auto Insurance Card or Declarations Page (if registering/need plate).
Make sure the buyers name is listed on the ID card, or a Declarations Page clearly showing the buyer listed as a driver.
Please review acceptable Proof of Insurance.
If the buyer already has a registration/plate in their name, then that plate may be able to be transferred to the newly purchased vehicle, which saves you money! So simply bring in the registration card or license plate with you!
IN-TRANSIT 60-DAY TEMPORARY TAGS
Are you an out of state resident who just purchased a car in Pennsylvania and plan to drive it back to your home state? If so, we can help you by processing a temporary tag, which includes a temporary registration valid for 60 days. This will allow you up to 60 days to get back to your home state and title/register your new vehicle!
(In-transit plates may not be issued to a PA Resident under any circumstances)The buyer/purchaser of the vehicle must bring in the following:
The Pennsylvania title to the vehicle that you just purchased. PA titles require the seller’s signature to be notarized; therefore, the seller(s) must also come with their valid Driver’s License or State issued Photo ID so we can notarize the title OR it must have been notarized by another notary public before coming in to our office.
Your valid out of state Driver’s License or valid out of state Photo ID.
Your current out of state automobile insurance card or declarations page. Make sure your name is listed on the ID card or Declarations Page showing you are listed as a POLICY OWNER or DRIVER. The original PA Title will be returned to you so that you may complete the processing with your home state DMV.

Ordering a duplicate title is easy in most cases. Come to the office and we can notarize the form.
The owner(s) of the vehicle need to bring the following:
- Go to PennDot Website and print out Form MV-38o to get Notarized. (“O” like Oscar)
- Each owner must have his or her valid Driver’s License or valid Photo Identification.
- The VIN, Title number or Plate number.
- And, if applicable, the lien release letter from your bank.
Do you need to change your name on your title and/or have your registration card updated?
The owner(s) of the vehicle need to bring the following:
- Each owner must have his or her valid Driver’s License or valid Photo ID.
- The vehicle registration card.
- The original marriage certificate, original divorce decree, or original court order.
- The title to the vehicle if you going to change the name on the title as well.
If you already have a Pennsylvania Registration or PA license/ID, we can change your address right on-line. Your revised documents print out right here in our office!

We are an ATV / SNOWMOBILE dealer! Are you confused about what you need and how to register your ATV or Snowmobile? Pennsylvania’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources requires all ATVs and Snowmobiles to be titled and registered. The ATV and Snowmobile registration and titling fees are to provide funding that will help administer the program and maintain the trails on DCNR-managed forests. These fees will also help provide grants to profit and non-profit organizations for developing additional riding opportunities!
We are more than happy to assist you with your ATV and Snowmobile needs:
